Philosophy
Autistic children in Ontario require time to strengthen brain pathways needed for relational and emotional skills and parents are their primary therapists. Children diagnosed with Autism, ASD, PDD-NOS, Aspergers or Sensory Intergration Disorder need to learn specific social and emotional skills step by step, in order to learn how to interact with their peers.
Parents of a child with autism face stress in their marriage, relationships and work. Parents face a multitude of feelings and choices. My ultimate goal is for parents to work as an effective team modeling the how-to's of social and emotional development, so their child will have an effective resource "their parents" available as they continue to develop in life.
