Initial Assessment
- Two hour interview and educational session with family.
- Educate parents regarding their child's social and emotional skill development and discuss parents primary goals .
- Assess child's need's.
- Discuss families routine's and playroom set-up at home.
Follow-up Session with Parents
- Discuss and assess new routines and activities.
- Provide further instruction and ideas for one-to-one time at home.
- View selected resources with familiy to enhance parents one-to-one time.
One-to-one Session with Child+Parent
- One-to-one structured activities.
- Laminated P.E.C.S.
- Reference for information, such as interpreting body language.
- Discuss and address issues related to self-care, assist child in learning from previous experiences, attention span, inflexible agenda, learn how to follow the leader, tantrums, think outside the box, empathy, and acceptance of parental authority.
Follow-up Phone Calls
- Available to parents requiring assistance between sessions.
One-to-one Session with Neurotypical Child
- Helpful for setting up social situations in the home. Siblings included.
Play Therapy Session (occur in my home-2hr visit.)
- Helpful for setting up social/emotional situations out of the home.
- Focus on child's self care, communication, autonomy, learning needs, a positive place to explore and develop new skills needed at home and in school.
