"It's like you have a crystal ball, you know exactly what we are going through." Mom of 4 year old boy with ASD (Mississauga, Ontario).
"All I know is that you have definitely been our pillar of strength.. and you have made this journey a lot easier to handle. Thank you so much." Mom of 7 year old boy with PDD-NOS (Mississauga, Ontario).
"Prior to Zoë, we had three therapists for our son, and although one of them understood him, she was not really experienced with his particular condition. And the other two therapists were just flatout useless and a waste of time. I knew I needed to find somebody who was experienced with the latest research in treating ASD, and who would appreciate my son's strengths while also being fully aware of his weaknesses. I found all those needs met for Isaiah with Zoë Marshall. Since he switched to therapy exclusively with Zoë, Isaiah has shown marked improvement in both connection with others and verbalizations. Zoë is diligent in therapy sessions and her methods are fun for Isaiah. She is also careful to work on goals that are important to me and takes the time to listen and ask me what our hopes for our son are. If you want a caring effective therapist for your child, I highly recommend Zoë Marshall." Melody and Christian Grewal, parents to Isaiah, 6 with PDD-NOS
"It was the toughest time for us in July 2008. We got tired and lost, feeling hopeless. Fortunately, we met Zoë. With her guidance, we restarted our journey to heal our little boy. Gradually, Kevin is breaking up the fence of his own world, getting connected with us. He is making eye contact; he is talking and laughing with us and his sister. Amazingly, Kevin is getting more willing to learn. Zoë is not only a consultant but also a friend who shared our cheers and tears along the way. Without her expertise and encouragement, we couldn’t face up to the hardship of autism." Parents of Kevin, 8 years old with ASD (Mississauga, ON)
Since my childhood, I was concerned for children with special needs. I gravitated towards the resource teachers in order to help them with the special kids in their class. Eventually I worked in the homes of families with severly disabled children. These experiences gave me a well rounded understanding of both the "system" and how families truely cope.
Ultimately my best experience was when my own son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and I became the mother of a child with special needs.
Lovingly, Zoë Marshall RN, Autism Consultant
